Perfina Ceramics Benefits from Tanzania's New Industrial Policies, African Factory Construction Gains Strong Policy Support

By the end of May 2025, Perfina successfully completed the initial land clearing phase for its ceramic tableware factory project in Mkuranga, Tanzania (covering 96 mu, approximately 64,000 square meters). This milestone marks the official entry of the African ceramic factory into the construction phase. As a modern manufacturing base, this Tanzanian ceramic factory will become Perfina’s core production hub in Africa, strongly supporting the company’s “China Production + African Manufacturing” dual-base strategy. It will accelerate the development of a localized ceramic tableware supply network, serving the vast African market.

Surging Manufacturing Investment & Favorable Policy Environment

The Tanzanian government is actively promoting manufacturing as a key engine of economic transformation. According to the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), the country registered 901 investment projects in 2024, with a total value of TZS 20.7 trillion (approx. USD 7.7 billion)—a record high since 1991. A significant proportion of these are manufacturing projects. Strong policy incentives—such as the Integrated Industrial Development Strategy 2025 (IIDS 2025)—clearly support manufacturing investment, offering tax breaks, infrastructure support, and streamlined administrative procedures.

Transport Infrastructure Upgrades to Support Manufacturing and Export

To support industrial growth and exports, Tanzania continues to invest heavily in upgrading its transport infrastructure. In 2025, the African Development Bank announced an investment of TZS 6.7 trillion (approx. USD 2.5 billion) in priority transport projects. These include multinational highway links between Tanzania and Kenya, as well as the construction and upgrading of several railways and airports, all of which will significantly enhance logistics efficiency.

Perfina Tanzania Ceramic Factory: A Strategic Investment in Scale and Technology

Perfina’s ceramic factory in Tanzania is scheduled to commence production in November 2025, focusing on manufacturing ceramic cups, bowls, plates, dishes, and dinnerware sets. The project is being developed in two phases:

Phase 1:
Covers a construction area of 20,000 square meters, including a main production workshop, raw material warehouse, storage facilities, staff dormitories, and office space. Once completed, Phase 1 is expected to generate an annual output value of RMB 100 million, creating nearly 400 local jobs, primarily serving the African market. Core facilities will include a state-of-the-art 86-meter roller kiln and a fully automated ceramic production line. The production process covers clay preparation, glazing, molding, shaping, testing, trial production, and quality control, making it one of the most technologically advanced setups in the region.

Phase 2 (Reserved):
Space is allocated for future development, with plans for automation upgrades and smart factory integration, further enhancing capacity and efficiency in daily-use ceramic production.

Looking Ahead: Deepening Localization and Sharing Regional Advantages

Perfina remains committed to deepening its presence in Africa through localized production, strategic partnerships, and technology-driven manufacturing. With strong policy tailwinds and a favorable investment climate, the company looks forward to working with local distributors, project partners, and retailers to build a robust ceramic tableware ecosystem in Africa—offering benefits such as zero tariffs, lower logistics costs, and faster delivery.
